glass of poetry

my thoughts cascade like water from a glass, i rhyme them out as they pass.

In class we learned to love ourselves
Because that’s how we pull through
But I didn’t fully understand
That love means not blaming anyone

Life isn’t easy - it isn’t meant to be
But we’re being our best selves
With who we are and what we’ve got
It’s okay to go off the beaten path

There are colours in our soul we
Struggle to align with the world
You’re merely another direction
Sometimes only acceptance saves

glass of poetry

This one’s about being bullied/ ostracised. I just want to let everyone know that if you’re going through something tough right now, you’ve got to keep on going. It’s going to be difficult, but it’s going to be worth it. You are stronger than you think, and when you’re past the bad experience, you will find friends that are worth keeping and a place where you’re valued - a place which you value. And if you know anyone who is being bullied, I encourage you to be a friend to them. Sometimes all a person needs is a smile or some empathy. I also urge you to check out To This Day by Shane Koyczan, because it is a brilliant spoken word poem and it has made me cry more than once.
